We are committed to accelerating our students’ reading progress while fostering a love for reading. One way we achieve this is by appointing Reading Plus Champions!
Champions will complete exciting reading activities with us, have their tasks published on our website and have the opportunity to interview an author!
Nominate your students who stand out for their passion for all things literary – including students you’ve noticed excelling on Reading Plus, enjoying reading in their spare time or showing enthusiasm in their English lessons.
Prizes
Reading Plus Champions will receive a special kit full of prizes to recognise their achievements and materials to help complete their activities!
The kit will include:
- A £25 book voucher.
- A new book and bookmark.
- A reading journal, pen, highlighter, and stickers.
- A brand-new, unseen Reading Plus text.
- A Reading Plus Champion badge and certificate.
The Champion role
Every academic year, a new batch of Champions have the opportunity to complete several exciting reading activities, including:
- Reviewing new (and unseen!) texts yet to be added to Reading Plus.
- Sharing their experience of Reading Plus in a blog titled ‘My Reading Plus Journey’.
- Expanding their reading further and reviewing books outside of Reading Plus.
- Collaborating with us on interviews with children / YA authors.
All of the tasks your students complete will be published on our website! You can view the published tasks of our previous Champions at the bottom of the page.
Do you have a student you think would make a great Reading Plus Champion?
There are no limits to the number of nominations you can make. The Champion role is open to students from KS2-KS4. Students chosen for the role will be Champions for the 2024/25 academic year.
Nominations are now closed for the 2024/25 academic year.
If you have any questions, email abbie@readingsolutionsuk.com
Reading Plus Champions must have parental consent for their name, age, photo, and school name to be used in promotional activities.
Your school must have a Reading Plus licence to nominate a Reading Plus Champion.
As always, any student who finishes the programme during the year is invited to join our Champion ranks.
