Meet Macie, age 11, our Star of the Month winner.

Congratulations to Macie, from Whitefield Primary School, our latest Star of the Month winner.

Headteacher, Jill Wright, from Whitefield Primary School nominated Macie for her commitment, hard work and effort. She said:

“Macie has made exceptional progress in reading. She has accessed Reading Plus every day and has been resilient, consistently trying even when things were tricky. Macie’s self-belief in her ability to improve is an example to us all.

“She has made incredible progress and worked hard at home and in school to develop her reading skills. Macie moved from level B to level G (Year 3 reading age to Year 8 reading age) in 5 months.”

To recognise her reading efforts, we awarded Macie as our Star of the Month, gifting her a trophy and a £25 voucher.

Macietells us she likes the programme because “Reading Plus has helped me read faster and lets me choose different books. I like reading with my friends and talking about the books. It has helped with my writing because I have better vocabulary and I can use more interesting words in my writing”

Jill finished: “Reading Plus has had a major impact on improving reading standards and fluency across the school.”
