Reading Plus has an in-built summative assessment called InSight. In just 40 minutes, it gives you a comprehensive picture of your students’:

  • Reading comprehension.
  • Vocabulary level.
  • Reading speed (words per minute).
  • Motivation for reading.

Easy to interpret reporting data

The summative InSight Assessment

The Screening Report categorises students into four quadrants to clearly identify their reading strengths and skill gaps in fluency and comprehension.

You can also review a student’s individual diagnostic profile to better understand each student’s abilities.

In addition to the initial InSight Assessment students sit at the beginning of the school year, you can administer it two more times throughout the academic year.

The Benchmark Report compares data from all assessments, enabling you to track student progress.

The Projected Growth Report predicts a student’s growth over time based on a combination of their InSight Assessment results and ongoing performance on the programme.

This allows you to continuously track whether students are on target to meet their end-of-year goals. If a student is working below their predicted level, the report identifies the problem and can inform your decisions about how best to support those students.

Real-time reporting

Robust reporting tools help teachers determine if students are completing all assignments, progressing slowly, or need to be challenged more.

As students use Reading Plus, the Educator dashboard lets teachers see in real-time:

  • Student usage and progression.
  • Which students may require intervention.
  • Which students are progressing well.
  • Assessment results.

Part of a multi-academy trust?

Trusts can access academy-level data – at a glance.

Our Customer Support Team provides monthly reports for trusts so leaders can evidence impact with board members and trust senior leaders. You will see:

  • Summative benchmark progress.
  • Formative progress (usage, average year-level gains, the average increase in reading speed, total number of words read, etc).
  • Question level analysis per academy.
  • Recommendations to encourage usage and motivation tips.
