When your school purchases a Reading Plus licence, you gain the support of our Customer Support Team, entering into a partnership with our team of dedicated professionals who are committed to ensuring you get the most out of the programme throughout your contract with us.
They’ll help you implement the programme in your school, provide tailored ongoing support, training, and pedagogic advice – and be on hand during school hours to answer any questions.
What did you do before being a member of our Customer Support Team?
I have worked since I was around 13, so I have done plenty of jobs. I have done litter picking, waitressing, and market stall assistant. Before starting at Reading Solutions UK, I was a customer service representative.
After that, I went to Northumbria University and studied Marketing Management.
What attracted you to the education sector?
I wish I had extra resources when I was in school. The education sector appealed to me as I wanted to help students access and make use of resources, like Reading Plus, which help them prepare for life.
Describe yourself in 3 words
- Funny. I am quick-witted and can crack a few fair, funny jokes. However, I will surely crumble under pressure if you ask me to tell a joke.
- Independent. I try and do most things myself without having to hound others. I also like to do a lot of activities on my own, like going to the gym, for example.
- Focused. Once I have a goal in mind, I will focus on it until I have achieved it.
Tell us more about your role at Reading Solutions UK.
I am part of the Customer Support Team. We look after our current Reading Plus customers and ensure that the programme is working correctly and implemented to the best use possible.
We also support teachers needing guidance or assistance when using Reading Plus. The overall goal of the team is to provide the best customer support!
What do you enjoy most about working on the Customer Support Team?
I really enjoy the fast-paced environment. Due to the large number of schools using Reading Plus, I usually answer emails and calls from teachers ringing to ensure everything is working in new classes, making changes for their optimal use of the programme, etc.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
My top three things to do when I am outside work is:
- Going to the gym for a couple of hours a day.
- Play games on my PC.
- Hang out with my friends, go to the pub, play pool, or go out for a meal to catch up.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Not everything that happens is that big of a deal; I know at the time it seems like the world around you is crumbling, but it’s not. Don’t take everything too seriously; you will be a lot happier.
What was your favourite childhood book?
We’re going on a bear hunt. No one can tell me it’s not the best children’s book!
What piece of tech can you not live without and why?
I am torn between my computer and my phone. However, I would have to go with my phone, I cannot always see my friends in Lancashire, and the only way I can contact them is through phone calls or social media.
If you had a superpower, what would it be and why?
If I could have one superpower, it would be teleportation. I wouldn’t have to worry about fueling my car, I could have an extra hour or so in bed, and I wouldn’t have to waste hours driving back home or sitting on flights.
