What attracted you to the education sector?
I have always worked with children and young people having previously been a Person-Centred Counsellor and Youth Worker.
How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Bubbly. Busy. Empathetic.
Tell us more about your role at Reading Solutions UK?
I am part of the Partner Plus Support team where we work to support our schools to successfully use Reading Plus in the classroom or at home. To do this we offer free online training for teachers, provide telephone and email support, and create and send out termly pupil progress reports. Our goal is to see the pupils thrive with their reading through the use of the Reading Plus programme.
What do you enjoy most about working in the Partner Plus Support Team?
Seeing the progress pupils are making with their reading. It’s always a pleasure coming to work when you love what you do, you can see you are making a difference in someone’s life and you are surrounded by like-minded folk.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Other people’s opinions are about their own lives. Listen to and follow your own heart.
What was your favourite childhood book?
Alice in Wonderland
What piece of tech can you not live without and why?
My phone has my entire life within it! From the books on Goodreads, my runs on Strava and my calendar to ensure everyone in my family gets to where they are meant to be.
If you had a superpower, what would it be and why?
I would like to be able to see a person’s life story/thoughts above their head in little bubbles. I love to hear people’s life stories.
