Louise Mawson

As a member of the Customer Support Team, Louise provides free, bespoke, ongoing training and support to our partner schools to ensure they get the most impact out of Reading Plus.

When your school purchases a Reading Plus licence, you gain the support of our Customer Support Team, entering into a partnership with our team of dedicated professionals who are committed to ensuring you get the most out of the programme throughout your contract with us.

They’ll help you implement the programme in your school, provide tailored ongoing support, training, and pedagogic advice – and be on hand during school hours to answer any questions.

 

Briefly describe your job history/life experience.

I have 12 years of experience working in various roles in Education, including supporting students in class, being a pastoral manager, and teaching secondary-aged students

What attracted you to the education sector?

I loved the idea of supporting children and young people to get the best possible outcome regardless of their background.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

  • Ambitious – I like to push myself to be the best that I can be.
  • Organised – I love colour-coding my notes and having a plan.
  • Warm-hearted – I am friendly and approachable and will help anyone who needs it.

Tell us more about your role at Reading Solutions UK.

As a Customer Support Advisor, I make phone calls to schools, provide tailored training, create reports based on programme data, and complete a monthly check on Reading Plus accounts to help teachers and support staff get the best outcomes from the programme.

What do you enjoy most about working in the Customer Support Team?

I work with some amazing people who are incredibly supportive! I also love seeing the progress made by pupils using Reading Plus.

When you are not working, what do you enjoy doing?

I love music, so attending gigs/festivals is my favourite activity. I also enjoy visiting my friends and family in my hometown, going for walks, and gaming.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Live in the moment and remain positive because things always work out for the best.

What was your favourite childhood book?

I loved reading Jacqueline Wilson’s books as a youngster. My favourite was Bad Girls.

What piece of tech can you not live without and why?

Either my computer or my hoover! I hate messy environments and love to game.

If you had a superpower, what would it be and why?

To fly – it would be cool and would be a quicker and easier way to travel.
